FRAMEWALK!!

Wow!!

When they said I would be getting the call soon to book my framewalk, they weren't kiddin'!!!
Got the call this evening from the builder asking if I could come in for the framewalk tomorrow! I tried to push it till later in the afternoon but they weren't able to so I have to take some time off work. Ah well! At least I get to start my Easter holiday early!!

I'll be sure to take LOTS of pictures to post up on here once I'm done!!

Let the excitement begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Frame)Walkin' on Sunshine!!!

Got an e-mail today from my Customer Care Coordinator saying that my roof is now officially complete and so I will be contacted in the next few weeks to schedule my framewalk! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Though technically, since I am so obsessed, I knew this already, but it's great to have final confirmation and that the timeline is going along as planned (KNOCK ON WOOD!!). I also get to find out more information about my closing date and whether or not they'll be on time.  Wish me luck!!!

COUNTDOWN MILESTONE!!

Well techinically I should have written this yesterday BUT I just passed the 2 month mark till closing!! WHOOT WHOOT!! Only a matter of time. Should be SO much fun!! I can't wait!!!

I don't have any pictures because the outside hasn't changed much BUT I did hear that the insulation and such would be going in soon and framewalks should be in the next few weeks so yay! I'm going to slowly start packing and finalizing things. I've already hired movers and planned out that week and set up my Rogers with my phone number as well!!! Slowly putting all the pieces together for sure!

I am excitement personified!!! lol...

WELL WELL WELL!!

This is just a short entry because I'm so excited but it doesn't look like the venting and plumbing are STARTING to go in...THEY ALREADY ARE!! I went by the house today and it seems like a lot of the work has already been done on the plumbing and the venting in the entire block. AND the roof was done!! I couldn't get a good shot of it but it looks very nice. I can't wait to see everything come together!

I guess the next phases are wrapping the house and getting the insulation completed for the framewalk, which is supposed to happen in early April at which time I will have TONS of pictures to share! HA ZAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! lol...

The whole thing is like the kid in the Mazda commercial..zoom zoom!

Come and Knock On My Doooooooooooooooooor.....

The title is my shout out to Three's Company because...........

I have a front door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that wasn't all!!

Looks like they're ready to put on roof shingles because they're all stacked nicely just ready to become my roof for the next few years of my life. If you look closely, you can also see that the garage door to the house is also on now, which is great news.

From what some of my neighbours tell me, the venting and plumbing is starting to go in and they've actually started putting on the roof shingles since this picture was taken earlier this week. WAAAAAAHOO!! Only two more months to go and it looks like everything is going along swimmingly. This is great!! I'll keep you all posted..

Windows and Doors!! WHOOT!

I HAVE WINDOWS AND DOORS!!

Granted I don't have a garage door or front door but the other ones are in!! When I drove by yesterday, I didn't quite register the windows and such until I walked up and I actually gasped!! I'm such a geek! The french doors look so pretty and I can't wait to be eating a meal and have a nice breeze (or the sweet smell of BBQ =D ) coming in from the deck! The windows in the great room are nice and big so lots of light will be pouring into the room. WHOO HOO!! Tee hee hee!!  Let's see that they do next!!!

Bittersweet...

Today was my first tentative closing date. And since I am not currently waiting on pins and needles waiting for the phone to ring, it's fairly obvious that I will not be closing today. Crazy how I spent most of the last two years counting down to this day and then it almost came and went without a second thought. Hmmmm...

BUT on the other side, with everything that's been going on, there was NO WAY I would have been ready to move today, so (never thought I'd say this)... I'm actually glad that the closing was delayed....I know!  I know! AB-SO-LUTE SACRILEGE considering how utterly obsessed I am with the whole building experience!!!  But if word gets out,  I'll de-ny, de-ny, DE-NY! *wink*

Right now, I'm still looking for furniture and the finishing touches for the house. I've looked at M.Y Home, Suede, Mobilia, Ikea (that's a given..it's IKEA! =D), the Brick, Mikaza furniture....it's been a crazy whirlwind. I haven't decided if I'm going with 2 couches or a couch and 2 chairs in the living room. That's the biggest dilemma because I want the most comfort, and plus when I have friends over for movies, I don't want to share my couch cause I like to sprawl out (lol!) ... BUT in the interests of space and function, I'm not sure that two couches is the best idea. Ugh! I can almost hear my sister saying 'I told you so!' because she's been advocating a couch and two chairs forever. NUTS! I might have to get the two couches just outta spite! lol...kidding!!

I'll be sure to post my final choices once I decide.

On the actual building front, I now have roof boards!! WHOOT WHOOT!! And this was from Tuesday so it's only a matter of time before the shingles, windows and doors ACTUALLY go in....JOY!! I'll get pictures of that up soon.

Now I'm just anxiously waiting for the framewalk call so I can post proper pictures of the inside of my humble abode...tee hee hee!!

OH! AND I got my POSTAL CODE!! I know it's just a postal code, but it's MINE and it FINALLY completes my address!!! HA ZAAAAAAA!! Technically, the code puts the house in Stittsville, but I choose to ignore that and continue to consider myself in Kanata. I wanted to buy in Kanata, I was sold my house under the impression that it's in Kanata, and therefore, I intend to MOVE TO and LIVE in KA-NA-TA! Can't just go changing the city all willy-nilly on me... sheesh! Lol....

Windows and Roofing and Doors..OH MY!!

I stopped by the house site yesterday to see if they had worked on my roof and the trusses are on the frame and it looks like they're slowly putting the roof together. YAY!!

After I took this picture, I moved a little to take a closer look at the house and I saw this!!

WHOO HOO!! They're getting ready to put windows and door up in the structure. I don't know when that will happen exactly, but it's an AWESOME sight to see the windows there. While I was taking these pictures. I met a couple who live nearby and were taking a walk around the construction site. They were saying that the progress on our area has been some of the fastest they have seen in the area (sure didn't FEEL that way! lol) and that at the stage it's at now, it should fly by! Let's hope so!!

They seemed really nice and said that Fairwinds was a really nice place to live and that they really enjoyed it. That was great to hear. I've tried to be in the neighbourhood at different times on different days and it always seems so peaceful. Plus the fact that it's a bunch of young families and there are nice parks around, really makes me excited to move!!

2 more months!! Now it's time to look for furniture....pray for me. Lol!!

Raise the Roof!!

I have a roof!! Technically, it's not over my head yet but SOON!!

I also met one of my neighbours across the street today and he and his wife look really cool. It's awesome that there are so many young people on my street!! It will definitely make the transition and living just that little bit easier, plus I have 3 good friends living within a 5 minute walk so that should help too!

While I was on site, I also met one of the health and safety inspectors as he was driving off the lot. He asked what blocks my neighbour and I were in and when I told him, he mentionned that he really liked the work that the framers are doing on our block, which was definitely a great thing to know. It all looks good to me, but it's nice to hear something good from someone who actually knows what they're talking about to some degree!

I was originally told that my framewalk should be towards the end of March. Can't wait!

Soooooooooooooooooo close!! YAY!
